Shap is ideally situated for either cycling holidays or as a stopover.

The sea to sea (C2C) route from the Cumbrian coast to the east coast passes nearby and the even more tortuous Lands End to John O'Groats passes through the village.

There are many day routes that can be enjoyed, either mountain biking in the Lake District or some wonderful low level cycling through the scenic Eden Valley.

The Kings Arms offers a warm welcome to cyclists and provides secure cycle storage, washing and drying facilities should you get caught in the rain.
